ずーっと前に 03 It's Not Your Fault を聴いたときから目をつけてたバンド New Found Glory. 日本で聴いたときはあんまいいと思わなかったアルバム Coming Home をゲット. 全体的にいいとはいえないけど, なかなかの曲も何曲かあって, 特に 11 When I Die は Mae を思わせるような綺麗で壮大なメロディーラインで聞き込むほどよくなる.

友達が今週の日曜から約1ヶ月ヨーロッパ旅行に行くってことで, ちょっとしたお別れ会を兼ねて友達の家で BBQ してきました. 友達の家で食べて飲んだあと, Main Street のパブに行って飲み直し. 2時間くらいそこで飲んで帰宅. と同時に TV をつけたらちょうど Linkin Park の What I've Done のミュージック・ビデオが流れてた. なんか脈絡のない文章になったけど, まぁいっか. 酔ってるからってことにしとこう.

学校が終わったあと友達の買い物の付き合いで行った London Drungs で小学校のときの友達とバッタリ. 小学校を卒業してからの十数年の間に数える程度しか会ってない(しかも約束して会ったわけじゃなくて, 同窓会で会ったりとか, タワーレコードでたまたま会ったりとか)友達にこんなところで会うなんて. ホントびっくりした.
それはさておき明日はいよいよ Linkin Park の新譜発売日. といっても UK の MTV サイトで全曲試聴しちゃったし, 第一印象もあんまよくなかったから正直興奮度がイマイチ. 聞き込めば好きになるかなぁ...

it seemed to perfectly come to life once, but the screen is totally down and black now... though the cell phone itself is working, i can't use the functions such as call ID, text message, schedule, alarm, address book, etc. because i can't see the screen. it's like a computer without a display. so, all i can do are to receive phone calls and to phone someone only by dialing. it's absolutely inconvenient... i'm in two mind now whether to buy a new one or keep using this one.

i went to my favorite previous teacher's house and ate lunch together. this was because my previous classmate moved in her house as a tenant (what a coincidence!) and he invited me today. we enjoyed lunch, tea or coffee, oreo, weird mexican candy, conversations, etc.

昨日の夜は友達のクラスメートの家に行って, ビール片手にフライドチキンを食べたあと, Notre-Dame De Paris のミュージカルを(友達のコンピュータで)みてきた. 生まれて初めて(?)ミュージカルをみたけど悪くなかった. というかよかった(ちょっと長くて疲れたけど(笑)). フランス語音声に韓国語字幕だったから, 詳しい内容はよくわからなかったけど, 友達が場面場面で説明してくれて大筋は掴めたし, 何より俳優たちの歌唱力に圧倒された. 俳優陣のうちの1人はロックシンガーらしいけど, その俳優の歌唱力がピカイチ. あれを音響施設の整った会場で生で聴いたらやばいだろうな〜.

ポテト. ではなく人々です. ここ数日ジャーマン, スイスの人たちと昼ご飯を食べてるんですが, みんな背が高いです. 男の人はみんな185以上, 女の人でも175以上はあります. そして, ドイツ語を母語とする人たちは一般的に英語の発音がいいです. フランス語母語者はそうでもないのに. 不思議だ.

my friends celebrated my birthday in the most impressive way that i'd ever had.
we went picnic in Queen Elizabeth Park, looked around stores on Main Street, went to an "all you can eat" restaurant called Shabusen, where we ate a lot of Sashimi, Sushi, BBQ, etc. with beer, walked to English Bay, went up to a revolving restaurant called Cloud 9 at The Empire Landmark Hotel, where we enjoyed the beautiful night view and wine having conversations, and then ended up going to a korean restaurant to drink soju. i had such a blast. i really appreciate it and will never forget.
