Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation

夢から覚めて現実へ戻ってきました.

先月まで家庭教師のバイトを通して教えていた子のお母さんから一枚のはがきが届いていました. 無事志望校に合格したということとそのお礼が書かれていました. 丁寧に書かれた文字を見ているとなんだか心が温まりました.

夢 - 2日目: 4(月)
アウトレットでショッピング. 韓国にはコンバース専門店があって(日本では見かけたことなかった気がする), グッズのバリエーションも多く, コンバース好きの自分としてはテンションあがりました. 結局何も買いませんでしたが....

夢 - 3日目: 5(火)
友達が経営する学習塾で小学生相手にプレゼンしてきました. そのあと, 友達の別荘に行って韓国の伝統ゲーム「ユンノリ」で盛り上がり, BBQ をして食べて飲んで話して就眠.

夢 - 4日目: 6(水)
友が友を呼び, 総勢10人で飲み明かしました.

夢 - 5日目: 7(木)
前日よりちょっと減って, 8人で飲み.

夢 - 6日目: 8(金)

夢 - 7日目: 9(土)
突然の電話を受け, 会う予定のなかった友達と会ってきました. お昼にジャジャンミョン＋αをご馳走してもらいました. 年上の友達が多いせいか, 韓国に行くとおごってもらってばっかりで, 殆ど食費が掛からない気がする(韓国では年上の人がおごる傾向にあるので).

夢/現実 - 8日目: 10(日)
午前の便で現実に戻ってきました. フライト時間1時間34分. 成田空港〜ウチより早い.

昨日は相当ナーバスでした. 飛行機に乗り遅れるかと思いました. 3万5千円(航空券代)がパーになるかと思いました. 空港内を走って走って, チェックインして, 手荷物検査されて, 出国手続きして, また走って走ってゲートに着いたのがちょうど搭乗時刻. なんであのタイミングで雪...

そんな昨日は渡韓早々, 念願のチャプチェとチャンポンを食べ, チムチルバンという数種類のサウナと大浴場が楽しめるところ(日本だと"ふれ〜湯"とかそうゆう系だと思う)で旅の疲れを癒してきました.

無事帰国しました.


1日目(日本〜韓国)

飛行機で隣りに座ったおばさん(日本人の旦那さんを持つ韓国人女性, 50歳, 子連れ)が, こっちが機内のポケットのところにおいてある雑誌を読んでるにもかかわらず話しかけてきたので雑誌を置いて話を聞くと, いつまでたっても話が終わらない. 結局2時間ちょいのフライトの間ず〜っと話相手させられました.
韓国情報をいろいろと教えてくれたのは嬉しかったんだけど, 同じことを何度も繰り返すし, 2時間ノンストップだし, 韓国人の友達が住んでる場所とそのおばさんの家のある場所がたまたま同じ市だってわかったら, 終いには「友達が迎えにくる」って言ってるのに『友達に「こなくていい」って電話して. 私が一緒に連れて言ってあげるよ』なんて言い出す始末. 本当にいい迷惑でした.

仁川(インチョン)空港到着後は, 友達のおばさん家族が数種類の焼き肉やらユッケやら冷麺(ネンミョン)やらめちゃくちゃたくさん奢ってくれました. ユッケなんて日本では5千円以上するだろう量(山盛り)が, そのおばさんとお店の人が知り合いらしく, サービスとしてタダで出てきました. めちゃくちゃうまかったです. 気持ち悪くなるほど食べました.


2日目
午前中は1日目とは別の友達と会って Korean Folk Village という, 韓国の歴史的建造物(古いタイプの家など)が見られる村に連れて行ってもらいました.
午後はソウル市街の COEX というショッピングモールに行ってぶらぶらして, そのあとその友達カップルと一緒にやっぱり焼き肉を食べてきました. 1時間くらい並ばないと入れないおいしいお店に先に並んで待っててくれてました. まぁこっちが遅れたので先に食べ始めてもいたけど(笑)
夕食後はお店を変えてカクテルソジュで乾杯. 楽しいひとときでした.


3日目
いろいろ行きました. が, 観光地名がもちろん韓国語なので覚えてません(笑) 覚えてるのは, ソウル市の夜景を見渡した Seoul N Tower と出店でいろいろおいしいものを食べた明洞(ミョンドン).


4日目
友達がカルビをおごってくれました. カルビと言ってもそんじょそこらのカルビとは違い, 友達が住んでる市の特産物の高級カルビです. 1人5千円は堅いっぽいです. たくさんのサイドディッシュと一緒にめちゃくちゃおいしくいただきました. カムサハムニダ〜.


その他
バンクーバーに着いたときもそうだったんだけど, 今回は両国がかなり似ていることもあって, あんまり海外にいるっていう感じはしませんでした. ハングルで書かれたサインを除けば日本にとても近い街並みでした.
ただ, 人の雰囲気はちょっと違って, 韓国の人はみんなパリパリ(ハングルで"急ぐ"的な意味)で, 人も車もバスもレストランでの食事の配膳でさえも, なんでもかんでもせかせかしてました.
それと, 年配の女の人でも女の子でも話し声がでかくてみんなパワフル. 日本と近いようで国民性は全然違うような気がしました.
もう一つ違う点. 韓国料理ってどれもこれもおいしい.

we left San Francisco for Santa Monica through Monterey. on the way to LAX, we stopped by a golf course and a Denmark-like village called Solvang, where we saw a windmill. after that, we went to LAX and dropped a curtain on a wonderful tour.

2007.06.22 (Fri)
first of all, we visited Yosemite National Park. we got off the bus and walked to Yosemite Fall. on the way back to the bus, P and i saw a deer or something (i don't know what it was). we took some photos of it.
going through the park, we headed off to San Francisco. we sightsaw in San Francisco: Downtown, Chinatown, Pier 39, Golden Gate Bridge, etc. we also went on a cruise from Pier 30, which took one and a half hours. during the cruise, we took many photos: Downtown, seagulls, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, which was a prison and now is a famous tourist spot, etc. the sea was dirty, but the sky was clear and beautiful.

2007.06.20 (Wed)
we got up around 4 am on this day due to a long-distance traveling to Grand Canyon. after a 4 to 5 hour-ride on the bus, we got to Grand Canyon. it was just magnificent, far beyond description. we looked at Grand Canyon only from one point. i hope i'll have a chance to see whole Grand Canyon later.
leaving Grand Canyon, we got to a city of gamble, Las Vegas. we checked in the hotel, and went out sightseeing at night. we visited a casino arcade, and a few famous hotel. furthermore, we saw a fountain show as illustrated in the picture below.
after that, we returned to the hotel, which by the way is Sheraton Hotel, and spept in a luxury room.

2007.06.19 (Tue)
we visited a tourist spot called Calico Ghost Town, which i heard was an artificial ghost town made by a guy who got interested in the place. it was red hot there. we left there for the hotel. dinner was a buffet at the hotel. i pigged out. meat, pasta, salad, fruit, cake, beer, etc.
after eating dinner, P and i went for a walk around the hotel. on the way, some guys told us there could be Space Shuttle seen in the sky at that night because it was supposed to launch on that day. laughing at one of the guys who said "that's Space Shuttle." pointing at a bat in the night sky, we left them and kept walking. finishing walking, we took a shower and went to bed early, for we ought to have waken up at 4-ish on the next day...

2007.06.18 (Mon)
arriving at LAX, we dropped by the hotel we was supposed to stay at on that day and then we headed off to Universal Studio in Hollywood. P and i enjoyed many attractions including Back To The Future The Ride, Shrek, Jurassic Park The Ride, Terminator 2: 3D, Water World etc., of which Water World show was the most impressive to me. acutually, i didn't expect Universal Studio so much because one of the teachers in my school told me that it was not worth $89 (US) visiting there, but it was way better than i thought.
leaving Universal Studio, we ate dinner at a korean restaurant and went to the hotel. we went to bed early since we were exhausted by lack of sleep on the previous day and exposure to the strong sun heat in Universal Studio.
